I was born in Baildon with Italian parents and at the age of 15 I got my first job in reputable local Italian restaurant Mamma Mia on Manningham Lane; this is where I learned most of my culinary skills; working in the dining room, then into the kitchens as starter chef, then onto pizzas and then working my way up to 2nd chef position.

At the age of 20 I worked for a Fine Italian wine importer selling wine to restaurants in the north of England but I still kept my hand on in the restaurant business by working weekends for my family who had then taken over running Mamma Mia’s.

In 1990 I opened my 1st business in Saltaire creating one of the first Italian Takeaways that served a menu similar to a restaurant – “Pacino’s the restaurant in your home” proved very successful. But deep down I wanted my own restaurant and in 1995 Angelo’s “The True Taste of Italy” was born.

I built a new image and reputation for myself cementing myself as one of the best loved and most popular Italian Restaurants around before deciding on a change of pace from the city centre ambience to a more relaxed dining experience with my latest restaurant “San Angelo” in Baildon!
